Regular Membership - requires that members are licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety- Private Security Bureau and/or the State Board of Insurance – Office of the Fire Marshal, and pay annual dues as published by the TBFAA.

Applicant Membership is open to entities which meet all the requirements for Regular Membership except the licensing requirements. They are entitled to full TBFAA benefits, and are permitted to serve on committees. They may not vote or hold office. A non-licensed Member may remain a member for one year, after which the membership will be automatically terminated.

Individual Membership - is open to individuals active in the industry in which their respective firm (licensed by the Texas Commission on Private Security and/or the State Board of Insurance Office of the Fire Marshall) is not a member. Note: Individual members are not entitled to vote and are not entitled to TBFAA membership discounts.

Membership as a TBFAA Associate is open to manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors of products relating to security equipment or systems. The annual membership fee is $350 and includes and pay annual dues that are detailed herein. Full member benefits include:

Member Services at the Member rate;
The ability to serve on committees;
Voting privileges;
and, Associate Members may serve as Officeholders.

Any member of a governmental organization or agency concerned with law enforcement or fire safety can be a Public Safety Partner as long the enabling employment continues.
